[BENDING HEDERA]

Hedera [Latin for IVY] represents a FLEXIBLE oragnism which derives its form from a sub-structure both revealing the host volume morphology and creating a new and organically sustainable identity. Similarly, the NEW School of Architecture will FLEXIBLY BEND into the CONTEXT and become an organic organism to allow for cross-connections.

The main IDEA is that of a TRYPTICH like organization where: ARCHITEC- TURE, ADAPTIVE REUSE and LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE are viewed as equally important part of the FUTURE of our CITIES and thus a MUST for students learning about spatial disciplines. The site is perfectly suited for this tri-partitioning and the finger-like design for the building creates endless opportunities for public interaction and experimentation.
